With the start of the spring athletic season, Wilton High School has adopted a new mechanism for team registration and pay-to-participate (PTP) fees. Athletes MUST be pre-registered and the $100 PTP fee must be paid before the season begins (Monday, March 24). You can register and pay these fees using the following link:
This is different than the prior two seasons this year in which you were asked to wait to pay the fees until the rosters were finalized (and in which the fees were paid via a link on the WHS website). Athletes will not be permitted to attend practice (or try-outs for those sports which may cut players) unless registration is complete and the fee is paid. For those of you curious about how this new system will deal with cuts: if a student is cut from a team, the fee may be applied to a different sport, or refunded to your credit card. Track does not cut, so have no fear on that score.
Important: if Outdoor Track is the first sport your child is playing this year, you will also need to pay the $50 one-time-per-school-year insurance fee. There is an electronic button in the registration process that will allow you to indicate if you have already paid the insurance this school year, or add it to your payment, as applicable.
P.S. The WTA Boosters will be holding a meeting with the coaches the second week of practice (the week of March 31st) to introduce families to the Outdoor Track season. Stay tuned for details.
Remember: Booster athlete meals are complementary at the banquet and seniors applying for scholarships in the spring must be members in good-standing of WTA Boosters.
Another copy of the invitation/RSVP form was sent in an email to all families on file as of 2/26/13. If you did not receive one, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Did you know that each spring the WTA Boosters awards scholarships to selected scholar-athlete-leaders?
In order to be be considered for a scholarship, applicants must be seniors who
-are members in good-standing of WTA Boosters
-participated in at least three seasons of Cross Country, Indoor Track and/or Outdoor Track in their junior and/or senior years.
This friendly reminder comes to all before the banquet RSVP deadline date of February 28th (in Anne Gaston’s hands) to encourage everyone to join boosters, but especially junior and senior athletes who anticipate applying for a scholarship. (You might as well get the complimentary athlete dinner, right?)
Scholarship applications will be made available just before spring break. Ah…spring break. What a nice thought.
